Fanis Deiktakis

Fanis Deiktakis comes from Crete' was born and raised in Athens, where he studied at the National University.

At the age of 14, influenced by the Blues and Rock music began to play guitar studying Blues,Oriental and Classical musical forms.

He has professionally played RythmBlues and Rock in bar-clubs in Athens and Glyfada, also participated in rock concerts the decade (1970-1980) performing his own music and songs.

Later on he worked as session musician in various musical scenes, orchestrator, sound designer and engineer in his recording studio.

He has composed music for the German TV series "Marchen der welt"  as well as the main musical theme of the titles. Prix -Cannes ` a co-production 121 episodes  of the German TV and Sofianos family (classic tales of W.Hauff and C Andersen) which aired (1979-1988) in Germany, in other European countries and in Greece.

He has composed music for French symbolist poetry as well for Greek poetry 1920 decade.

In most recordings he is playing almost all the musical instruments that uses in the orchestration :

              Guitar electric-acoustic, bass, Cretan lyra, tambouras, Indian harmonium,  

              percussion, drums  and various analog and digital synthesizers.

Today creatively focuses in music, characterized contemporary Roots music with psychedelic extensions, based on deep Oriental paths .
